College of Madicine: Leadership and Excellence in Clinical Training

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the clinical internal medicine examination for medical students was held at the Al-Ayen Teaching Hospital. This examination, conducted under the supervision of a distinguished group of internal medicine specialists, reflects the college's commitment to enhancing the practical and applied aspects of medical education.

The examination witnessed the participation of several local and international experts, including consultants and specialists. International physicians from Sudan, Palestine, Syria, Jordan, and Turkey participated, alongside leading internal medicine specialists from the Dhi Qar Health Directorate and the College of Medicine. This diverse panel contributed to the evaluation of students' clinical skills according to the highest academic standards.

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Adnan T. Al-Khafaji, affirmed that these examinations are conducted according to internationally recognized standards and the examination system of the British Royal Colleges, which are among the most rigorous and effective global examinations contributing to academic excellence and the development of medical education. He pointed out that clinical examinations are a pivotal pillar in the professional and practical preparation of medical students.

Prof. Dr. Al-Khafaji also noted that holding the examination at the College of Medicine's teaching hospital is a unique advantage for the college, as it is the only college in the country with its own teaching hospital, boasting a capacity of 250 beds. This provides a comprehensive training environment that contributes to preparing students with high scientific and practical competence.

This examination aligns with the vision of the College of Medicine at Al-Ayen Iraqi University to elevate the level of medical education and enhance the clinical training environment to meet international standards and strengthen the college's academic and professional standing.
