Al-Ayen Iraqi University receives a delegation from the British Royal Colleges to conduct the British Fellowship exam

 On Thursday, October 23, 2023, the College of Medicine received a delegation from the three British Royal Colleges of Medicine (London, Edinburgh, Glasgow) for conducting the British Fellowship Examination for the specialty of internal medicine and accrediting the University Hospital at Al-Ayen Iraqi University - College of Medicine as a center for this exam.

 This event arose after continuous coordination by the Deanship of the College of Medicine, the Deanship of the College of Medicine at Dhi Qar University, and the Deanship of the College of Medicine at Sumer University, as well as in direct participation with the Dhi Qar Health Department, in order to cooperating with these prestigious colleges that all international medical colleges seek to cooperate with.

 The delegation from the British Royal Medical Colleges was headed by Prof. Dr. Sue Jones, Prof. Dr. Donna Clarke, Professor Dr. Mukal, Prof. Dr. Mike Jones, Prof. Dr. Dhikra Al-Wattar, and Prof. Dr. Ban Al-Saffar.

 The delegation was received by the Vice-Chanceller of the University for Scientific Affairs Assoc Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoon, Vice-Chanceller of the University for Administrative Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atheer Y. Odeh, Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Iraqi Medical Colleges Prof. Dr. Anis K. Nayel, Director General of the Dhi Qar Health Department Dr. Rashid N. Al-Khalidi, and Dean of the College of Medicine Al-Ayen Iraqi University (AUIQ) Prof. Dr. Adnan T. Al-Khafaji, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dhi Qar University Prof. Dr. Wajdi J. Majid, Dean of the College of Medicine Wasit University Prof. Dr. Naseer Al-Maliki, Deputy Dean of the College of Medicine at Sumer University Dr. Ashraf A. Al-Ibrahimi, Dean of the College of Engineering Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rafid S. Al-Jubouri, and the teaching staff at  College of Medicine / Al-Ayen Iraqi University.

The Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Iraqi Medical Colleges, Prof. Dr. Anis K. Nayel, during the deliberative meeting with the delegation of the British Royal Medical Colleges, where he welcomed them warmly and thanked them for their historic cooperation, which marks an important point in the development of medicine and medical education by adopting Iraq as a center for British fellowship examinations. Also the head of the delegation Dr. Sue Jones thanked the efforts made by Al-Ayen Iraqi University  represented by its Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafik S. Shafik, the scientific and administrative staff, and the Deanship of the College of Medicine, for the extraordinary organization and preparations to conduct the final trial exam for the British Fellowship on October 27, 2023 at the University Hospital, College of Medicine /Al-Ayen Iraqi University (AUIQ).

 The delegation was briefed on the six-story building of the College of Medicine and toured the classrooms and scientific laboratories equipped with the latest technology from international origins, as well as the university hospital building built by the Chinese company Power China with 200 beds and ten major surgical theaters to be a center for the British Fellowship exams for internal medicine in Iraq, where  The delegation expressed great admiration for the meticulous details in the university hospital and considered this a major scientific achievement in Nasiriyah and Iraq as a whole.
