On Thursday, September 28, 2023, The Dean of the College of Petroleum Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University (AUIQ) Prof. Dr. Jassim M. Salman and the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Ghassan H. Abdul-Majeed signed a twinning agreement and joint scientific cooperation in order to increase cooperation ties and open new horizons of cooperation in academic fields and raising the scientific and research level.

The agreement included all scientific and student activities required for the purposes of academic work in the College of Engineering and its corresponding specializations between the two colleges at both universities.

On the sidelines of the agreement, a joint minutes was signed with the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Baghdad University, including the formation of a joint work team between the aforementioned and the College of Petroleum Engineering at the Al-Ayen Iraqi University (AUIQ) for the purposes of activating the requirements of the Bologna Process, providing the latter to be prepared for the evaluation examination, and following up on updating the curricula for the four stages and the exchange of scientific visits between the two parties, in addition to participating in the summer training requirements for students between them
