The Chanellor of Al-Ayen University Prof. Dr. Shafik S.  Shafik signed a cooperation agreement with the Chancellor of the Malaysian University of Petronas UTP in the presence of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahlam Lafta. This is part of the university's plan to transform into international universities.

 This agreement was comprehensive and contained many scientific items that serve the advancement of the two universities.  Among which are Matching Grant Program for doing important scientific projects, Student Mobility for training program or/ and (3+1) program, Al-Ayen and UTP as Co-Organizer for conferences for each other, Scientific Certificate for Al-Ayen University Labs  from UTP University.
