The President of Al-Ayen University, Prof. Dr. Shafik Sh. Al-Mawla, and the Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Haidar A. Marhoon honored a lecturer in the College of Petroleum Engineering, Dr. Diaa Khafif Al-Faraj for publishing a number of oil studies in solid scientific journals within the international indexes.

 Those studies dealt with the analysis of drilling engineering applications and the effect of rock wettability on the interaction of CO2 with carbonate rocks and the associated effects on storing CO2 in carbonate reservoirs, as well as using the (Agarwal) analytical approach with overlay rate and time solutions to analyze multiple and single well systems and the effect of scheduling  Wells pattern on project development management and pore pressure in oil reservoirs.
