Today, Sunday, December 4, 2022, the Department of Student Activities at Al-Ayen University, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the Chess Sub-Federation in Dhi Qar Governorate, held a chess tournament for students of Al-Ayen University colleges and departments.

The tournament, was held in the student club hall at Al-Ayen University, and participated by various colleges and departments of the university, where student Ali S. Mahdi from the College of Petroleum Engineering achieved the first place, and student Sajjad H. Muhammad from the Department of Radiology and Aultrasound - College of Health and Medical Technologies ranked second, and the student Ali A. Rafid from the College of Dentistry was ranked Third. In the championship competitions for female students, the student Taqa O. Nasser from the Department of Radiology and Aultrasound - College of Health and Medical Technologies achieved the first place.

This tournament comes within the internal curriculum of the university in preparation for participating and competing for an advanced position in the tournament to be held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Iraqi universities and colleges.
