The Department of Student Activities at Al-Ayen University, in cooperation with the Dhi Qar Chess Federation, held the Ur International Blitz Chess Championship for the year 2023 in the University Student Club Hall, with the participation of 57 players from a number of Iraqi governorates, including Maysan, Diwaniyah, Basra and Muthanna.

 It was registered and accredited in the International Chess Federation and played with 9 Swiss rounds. The time was 2 minutes and 3 seconds. The player Jabbar Nasser from Dhi Qar Governorate managed to achieve the first place, the second place for the player Qutayba Sadiq from the Dhi Qar Governorate, and the third place for the player Hussein Mohsen from Dhi Qar Governorate.  The fourth place was for the player Muhammad Ali Al-Kinani from Maysan Governorate, and the fifth place was for the player Ahmed Nasser Abdul Wahid from Dhi Qar Governorate.
