A workshop titled “The Dangers of Drugs and Methods of Prevention” was held at the Continuing Education Center on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

The workshop was presented by Colonel Abbas Yousef Ibrahim, Deputy Director of Media for the Dhi Qar Police Headquarters, and the law specialist Major Ahmed Majid Kamel, Deputy Director of Community Policing.

The workshop addressed several important topics, most notably methods for identifying drug users, signs of drug use, mechanisms for preventing drug abuse, and the role of educational and community institutions in raising health and behavioral awareness to reduce this phenomenon.

The workshop witnessed active participation from faculty and students, who emphasized the importance of concerted efforts between academic, security, and awareness institutions to protect society, especially young people, from the dangers of drugs and their health and social consequences.
